Capitol Club Visit - 7/05/2011

Maya Angelou said “You can never go home again, but the truth is you never leave home, so it’s all right. This is what I felt when I visited Capitol Club this past Tuesday evening because this is where I started my Toastmaster journey 10 years ago. How has the club grown since I was last there! I was asked by Darryl the new club president to induct the new officers and I happily obliged. When I arrived at the Urban Onion was warmly greeted by Roselie and directed to the meeting room. After the induction ceremony and a short break I proceeded to give an Icebreaker speech aptly titled “Hello.” I used this speech to re-introduce myself to the club as the new area 33 governor, the speech was well received and I appreciated the feedback. The meeting was well attended, well organized, and especially fun. Kathy and Margi through their efforts signed up two new members that night, excellent job. Overall I had a wonderful time and I can’t wait to visit the club again in September.
